State govt committed for welfare of minorities: Khajan Dass

The Minority Welfare minister Khajan Dass has said that the State government is committed to the welfare of minorities. The minister held a review meeting with the officers of the Minority Welfare department at his office in Vidhan Sabha on Thursday.

The Minister told the officers that the public should be made aware about the work being done by the department and the public welfare schemes should be shared through hoardings and other publicity mediums. He directed that the work being done by the department should be monitored periodically. Dass added that with a strong determination, all tasks can be completed efficiently.

In the meeting, the minister inquired about the scholarships provided by the department. He suggested that scholarship camps should be organised and distributed through public representatives so that people can get information about the schemes. He also reviewed the skill development works being carried out through NGOs under the Mukhyamantri Kaushal Vikas scheme. He urged that public representatives should also be informed about the skill programmes. 

Special secretary Parag Madhukar Dhakate, deputy secretary HS Basera, chairman Madrasa Board Mufti Shamoon Qasmi, chairman Waqf Board Shadab Shams and others attended the meeting.
