The Governor Lt Gen Gurmit Singh (Retd) and the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami reached the residence of the former Union minister and chief minister, Major General Bhuvan Chandra Khanduri (Retd) at Vasant Vihar here on Wednesday. The veteran leader had died on Tuesday after battling prolonged illness.
Paying emotional tributes to the late leader, the CM said that he had been his guardian, a source of inspiration and a guide. “His affection, discipline, simplicity and dedication to national service will always inspire me. The values he embodied enriched public life immensely,” he said.
His last rites were later performed in Haridwar.
