Nursing Ekta Sangarsh Samiti seeks permanent, fair rules for nursing recruitment

PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/Dehradun
The Nursing Ekta Sangarsh Samiti on Wednesday demanded a transparent, fair and permanent regulation for nursing recruitment in the State in the future while addressing the media here.
One of the members of the Samiti, Santosh Singh, said that in 2020, due to the State government’s flawed policies and regulations, the recruitment process of nursing officers for approximately 3,000 positions was conducted on the basis of the year wise seniority of passing the qualifying examination, ignoring the interests of junior candidates. This process resulted in two opportunities for some candidates, while many qualified candidates were left out of the selection process.
He further said that the government has repeatedly changed the rules and the policies have been tampered with by the government itself, so the government will have to find a solution to this.
Singh said that they demand that in the future the recruitment process should be brought under clear and concrete rules and it should be permanently operated on the basis of ‘Year-wise seniority system’, so that candidates of every year can get equal opportunities and the recruitment process remains completely fair and transparent.
Just as junior candidates were denied a fair opportunity in the 2020 recruitment process, no junior candidates should face such discrimination in the future. Their primary demand is equal opportunity, transparency and justice for all candidates, he said.
While addressing the media, other members of the Samiti also raised the same demand and said that, instead of theoretical, practical knowledge plays a very important role. Therefore, the selection of nursing officers at the hospital should be based on seniority, in which the experienced nursing officers will be appointed.
