Education minister Dhan Singh Rawat inaugurated a modern personalized adaptive learning laboratory under the Swift School programme at Government Inter College, Srinagar on Saturday.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that a digital laboratory has been set up in the school under the personalized adaptive learning programme in which tablets have been provided to students. “These tablets will contain e-learning content developed by experts. For this purpose, a unique ID has been created for each student, allowing them to log in and study various subjects. This technology will continuously assess children’s academic progress. Students will be given quizzes after each subject and chapter. After achieving a certain percentage of marks the students will be able to access the next level of content. If a student scores low marks, new study materials will be provided based on their weaknesses, enabling them to improve and reach the next level,’’ he said. The minister added that this initiative will not only boost children’s confidence but also strengthen their learning abilities.

Rawat averred that the State government is continuously working to promote the digitization of education in the State. He said that the government’s goal is to prepare children for future challenges by making them technologically proficient. “With this objective the schools across the State are being gradually transformed into smart and swift schools through the Conway Genius Foundation,’’ he said.

He stated that through these labs, students will have opportunities for innovation and hands-on learning in the fields of science, technology, robotics and digital education, which will inculcate scientific thinking and creativity in them.
