The workers of the SC wing of the Uttarakhand Congress held a protest against the rising prices of petrol, diesel and cooking gas here on Monday. The workers also burned an effigy of the BJP government at DL road Chowk in the Rajpur Vidhan Sabha.

Addressing the workers, the State president of the SC wing of Uttarakhand Congress, Madan Lal said that due to unbridled price rise, the lives of the poor, farmers, labourers, youth and middle class has become increasingly difficult. The recent increase in petrol and diesel prices is making transportation, food and daily necessities increasingly expensive. Petrol has already surpassed Rs 100 per litre in the many States of the country, he said.

“The common man is suffering from the impact of inflation. The economic burden on the public is constantly increasing due to the repeated increases in petrol and diesel prices. The general public is reeling under the price rise,’’ he said.

Madan Lal said that the hike in prices of petrol, diesel and cooking gas should be withdrawn immediately and concrete steps should be taken to control inflation.
