Tourists enjoy tranquillity in rain-drenched Nainital

The tourists, streaming into the picturesque Nainital to get relief from the heat scorching the plains, seem to enjoy the coolness of the famed city nestled in the Himalayas and swept by the cool breeze of its iconic lake.     Sunday saw a huge influx of tourists with the afternoon rain enhancing the beauty of the city.  

Aside from enjoying boating in the lake, they thronged several other places like Snow View, Tiffin Top, Cave Garden and Zoo among other tourist spots. The Mall Road was seen bustling with tourists.

A tourist from Bihar, Dharamtara said that she had fallen in love with the lake city for its soothing climate, lush nature and fascinating sights. “While Nainital is the best,  Bhimtal seems equally good. I faced a traffic snarl on reaching here, but what I enjoyed later overwhelmed me. Furthermore, I found places for meditation,” she enthused.

Echoing her, another tourist from Bihar Anushka said that the lake city is quite a clean place. “I feel deep peace on arriving here. I did face some problems, but these are normal while travelling,” she said.

A tourist from Haryana, Vikas said that continuous rain has made things more soothing. “No wonder tourists are arriving here in large numbers.  It is raining daily here and we are enjoying the rain, far from the heat-scorched plains,” he added.
