SIR campaign launched in Uttarkashi

PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/ Uttarkashi
To make voter registration error-free and transparent, a campaign of Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter lists has started from Monday in Uttarkashi district. Under this campaign, launched as per the instructions of the Election Commission of India, the booth level officers (BLOs) have started door-to-door contact campaigns by reaching the remotest and inaccessible villages of the district.
On the first day of the campaign, BLOs went door-to-door in various remote areas, including the border village of Jakhol under Mori development block. During this special campaign, run by the Election Department, BLOs will reach out to each family to not only provide enumeration forms but also collect completed forms. Additionally, information already recorded in the voter list will be matched and verified in the presence of family members.
Notably, the special intensive revision programme will continue until July 7. During this period, the details of all eligible citizens will be checked to remove the names of voters who have died, moved, or become ineligible for other reasons, and to ensure the correct information of eligible citizens is recorded. During the campaign, citizens can submit their completed enumeration forms with correct details to the BLO on the spot.
