A team of the State Health Authority (SHA) conducted a surprise inspection of many hospitals affiliated with the Ayushman Bharat Yojana on Tuesday. The inspection showed many irregularities in the functioning of the hospitals.
The SHA team led by director Claims, Dr Saroj Naithani raided Powerlife, Premsukh, Prakashdeep, Wellmed and Sunanda Medical Centre on the day. Finding irregularities such as illegal recovery from patients, unnecessary ICU admissions, absence of doctors, poor dialysis services and neglect of safety standards, the team recommended suspension of the affiliation of Prakashdeep and Powerlife hospitals and the dialysis unit of Sunanda Medical Centre. It also recommended imposing financial penalties on Premsukh and Sunanda hospitals. Show-cause notices have been issued to all hospitals.
