The Bharatiya Janata Party has welcomed the decisions taken by the cabinet in its meeting on Thursday. BJP State president Mahendra Bhatt congratulated the public on Uttarakhand being declared a fully literate State. He thanked chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami for extending the cut-off date for ‘equal work-equal pay’ for UPNL workers which will benefit thousands of families.
He said, “All the decisions taken by the cabinet will prove to be helpful in the State’s development, welfare of employees, improvement in education and establishing the local culture and tourism on the global map. The decision to declare Uttarakhand fully literate is a historic step which is a result of the BJP’s strong education policies and commitment to take education to remote villages.
By fulfilling the promise he had made to UPNL workers, the CM has given a major present to thousands of families. Similarly, the government has also provided major relief to the dependents of statehood activists. The decisions taken to encourage Sanskrit will bring about reforms in recognition to Sanskrit schools, curriculum and the examination system. Apart from this, the decisions taken by the cabinet to encourage the agricultural and herbal exports from the State are also a welcome development,” Bhatt said.
He further said that approval to the Himalayan car rally and insurance aid to horse-mule operators are big steps from the viewpoint of tourism and the Char Dham Yatra. The decisions taken for reform in the Public Works Department, Excise and Animal Husbandry departments are also a welcome measure, he said.
