PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/ Dehradun

Buoyed by the success of the ‘Kota Dialogue’ programme of Rahul Gandhi, the Youth Congress organised a protest march against the paper leaks and irregularities in recruitment examinations here on Saturday. The protest was organised by Youth Congress leader Ritesh Chhetri. Protesters also carried a symbolic funeral procession of the education system of the country. The procession began in Yamuna Colony and culminated at  Kisan Nagar Chowk.

Speaking on the occasion, Chhetri said that the education system which was meant to provide opportunities, respect and a better future to the youth has today become a source of frustration and stress for the youth due to corruption, paper leaks and excessive financial burden.

“The Congress Party, under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi, is in favour of such an education system in which every youth gets the opportunity to progress according to his/her potential, quality and affordable education is available and the examination system is completely transparent and accountable,’’ he said.

The Congress workers attending the procession welcomed the recent interaction of Leader of the Opposition (LoP) in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi with students and youth in Kota, saying that he has understood and given voice to the suffering of millions of young people in the country.

The chief spokesperson of Uttarakhand Congress Garima Dasauni, Congress leaders Sanjay Sharma, Lal Chand Sharma, Pradeep Joshi, General Secretary, Naveen Joshi, Deep Vohra and a large number of workers of Youth Congress attended the protest.
