Shri Venkateshwara University along with VGI and UP Police celebrated International Yoga Day on Sunday with a Yoga camp and felicitation programme. Venkateshwara Group founding chairman Sudhir Giri said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had taken India to the top by getting international recognition for June 21 as IYD.
Stating that it is the nation’s heritage, he said that in addition to enabling personal development, Yoga can also play an effective role in the progress of the nation.
With its asset of a youth population, the nation is now on its way to once again leading the world on the strength of spirituality and Yoga, he said. The university’s pro-chancellor Rajiv Tyagi, Yoga instructors Madhvi Singh and NA Shah also expressed their views on the occasion.
