Demanding a high level investigation in the allegations of offerings theft in Badrinath Dham, the local MLA Lakhpat Butola held a protest near the temple on Tuesday. He also observed a fast along with many workers of the Congress party on the occasion.
The Badrinath MLA said that the Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) has been embroiled in controversy for a long time. “No investigation was conducted into the alleged irregularities in the gold offerings at Kedarnath and now, the genie of corruption is emerging at Badrinath Dham which has severely undermined the faith of the Sanatanis,’’ he said. Butola said that after the sale of all the institutions, the temples are now being looted.
