29 tourism projects approved under Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali scheme

The district level selection committee has approved 29 tourism-related proposals under the Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali Tourism Self-Employment Scheme. Dehradun district tourism development officer (DTDO) Jas Chauhan said that the committee reviewed 37 applications received under different categories. Under the hotel category, 12 applications were considered, of which one received conditional approval after the applicant was asked to fulfill certain requirements before final sanction. In the vehicle category, the committee examined 15 applications and approved 11, including three with conditions. For the homestay category, the district had been assigned a target of eight units. Out of six applications received, four are in the conditional category.
Chauhan said that the approved beneficiaries can proceed with the next stage of the scheme after completing the required formalities. Pending or conditionally approved applications will be reviewed after the applicants complete all document formalities to get the final approval, he said. The Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali Tourism Self-Employment Scheme aims to promote tourism-related entrepreneurship and generate self-employment opportunities by providing financial assistance for ventures such as hotels, homestays and tourist transport services.
