To mark the approaching 80th Independence Day, the 34th Battalion of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Halduchaur, organised a public awareness rally under the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ and ‘Vande Mataram’ campaigns on Saturday.
The rally was organised under the guidance of the Battalion Commander Rajesh Kumar Joshi and commenced with the singing of the national song Vande Mataram. All ITBP personnel or Himveers stood in formation and paid respect while singing the national song, following which the Tiranga rally was flagged off.
The rally passed through Motahaldu, Halduchaur and adjoining towns and villages, carrying the message of respect for the national flag, patriotism, national unity and pride in the country.
The ITBP personnel participated enthusiastically on motorcycles, bicycles and on foot, carrying the Tricolour and raising slogans such as ‘Vande Mataram’ and ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ among other patriotic chants.
As the rally moved through the villages and local settlements, residents came out to welcome the participants. Children, in particular, displayed considerable enthusiasm and were seen capturing photographs and videos of the rally and the Tricolour on their mobile phones.
During the campaign, local residents were also encouraged to hoist the national flag at their homes under the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ initiative and uphold the dignity and honour of the national flag.
