While the government was busy claiming its swift response, a clip on social media raised more than a question at the governmental claims. The clip on social media which purportedly shows a glimpse of the rescue operation in the flooded tunnel has personnel rowing on what appears to be a plank on barrels.
This is in a State which claimed to be the first to form a Disaster Management department about two decades ago. Experts and even government officials off the record point out that at least a proper inflatable raft should have been used instead of a plank atop barrels for a rescue operation.
Some observers are also questioning where the international funding for this and other such projects is actually being used if this is the risk assessment and disaster preparedness.
