Taking a stern note of two wheelers operating without registration, the commissioner, Kumaon division and secretary to the CM Deepak Rawat directed the officers concerned to take strict action against such vehicles. Notably, during his tour of the division, he came to learn that some two-wheelers had been operating on the roads without registration numbers, something which is contrary to the rules.
Commissioner Rawat clarified that if a dealer sells a vehicle to a buyer without a registration number the dealer has to be heavily fined for violating the rules. He directed the divisional transport officers of Haldwani and Almora to identify all such vehicles under their jurisdictional areas and take action against the dealers as per the rules. He further asked them to forward the action taken reports to the commissioner’s office within seven days. “This is a serious issue and we must deal with them with utmost seriousness,” Rawat stated.
