The Dehradun municipal commissioner Alok Kumar Pandey has directed officials to prepare a proposal for the reconstruction of the Municipal Corporation complex near Saharanpur Chowk and explore the construction of new houses in the civic body’s residential colony. He inspected various municipal properties on Thursday, including the complex on Patel Road, MCD residential colony and another complex near the Bhoosa Store close to Saharanpur Chowk.
During the inspection, he asked officials to examine the possibility of reconstructing the complex near Saharanpur Chowk and prepare the necessary proposal. He directed that the property be developed in a planned manner to ensure its effective utilisation. He also inspected the residential colony and discussed the possibility of constructing new houses for municipal employees. Officials were directed to conduct a survey and technical assessment and prepare a proposal for the construction of new residential units.
Pandey also inspected encroachments outside the MCD complex and directed officials to take action as per rules and remove the encroachments. He also stressed the need to maintain a clean and organised environment around the complex.
The deputy municipal commissioner Tanvir Marwah, assistant municipal commissioner Vinay Pratap and executive engineer Rajit Kotiyal among others were present during the inspection.
