Military Nursing Service celebrates 101st Raising Day

The Military Nursing Service celebrated its 101st Raising Day at MNS officers’ mess, commemorating over a century of service, professional excellence and compassionate patient care in the Armed Forces Medical Services.

As part of the celebrations, MNS officers visited Raphael Centre on September 28 and interacted with children receiving care and support at the institution. A tree plantation drive was also organised on September 29, reaffirming the commitment of the Military Nursing Service towards environmental conservation and sustainable practices, organisers said.

The main ceremonial programme was held at the Nursing Officers’ Mess on October 1. The deputy general officer Commanding, Uttarakhand Sub Area,Brigadier R S Thapa commended the nursing officers for their contribution towards patient-centred healthcare to serving personnel, veterans and their families.

ADG MNS Major General Rachel Thomas highlighted the contribution of MNS officers towards patient care, clinical competence, education and research across military hospitals, training institutions and field establishments. “The 101st Raising Day is not merely a milestone in time; it is a celebration of a century-old legacy of compassion, courage, competence and commitment. As healthcare continues to evolve, we must embrace technology and innovation while ensuring that the human touch remains at the heart of nursing care,” she added.
