Dinesh Arya was named the Bharatiya Janata Party’s Rajya Sabha candidate from Uttarakhand on Sunday. Welcoming the decision, the BJP State president and Rajya Sabha member Mahendra Prasad Bhatt said that this decision had once again shown that the party respects dedicated workers and remains committed to the uplift of the Antyodaya section of society. Expressing confidence at Arya’s chances of winning, Bhatt said that the Congress should also support the BJP candidate as repentance for its caste politics based on falsehoods.
Congratulating Arya, he also thanked the party’s central leadership. “The BJP is the only democratic party where the dedication of a common ground-level worker is evaluated and respected. This decision may surprise the opposition but the party has proved many times in the past how sensitive it is towards its workers. Being a hardworking, dedicated and active worker, he discharged his duties on various posts.
As a public representative, he is known for being accessible, humble, sensitive and dedicated. The people of Uttarakhand will benefit from his presence in the Rajya Sabha on the basis of his long public life and organisational experience,” Bhatt said. He further said that Arya’s election is a certainty following his nomination on October 6. He said that the opposition’s challenge on the basis of numerical strength and moral standards is nowhere to be seen. The Congress which was spreading lies on Dalit humiliation should also support his candidature, the BJP State chief said.
