Yog Guru Ramdev and Acharya Balkrishna on Tuesday reviewed the preparations for the 52nd All India Oriental Studies Conference to be held in the University of Patanjali from October 29 to 31. Scholars from India and abroad will deliberate on various aspects of Oriental studies, Indian philosophy, culture, history, Sanskrit and the Indian knowledge tradition. “The conference is far more than an academic conference. It is principally meant for contemplation, preservation and dissemination of Sanatan Dharma, Indian culture and the Oriental knowledge tradition,” Baba Ramdev said.

He further said that the Indian knowledge tradition enshrined in the Vedas is capable of guiding today’s global society.  “Its concepts of equality, religion, duty and human welfare are timeless. A serious study is thus essential to understand the continuity and comprehensiveness of Indian culture,” he added.

He further said that it would serve as an important platform for dialogue between university vice-chancellors and academics. “It will discuss topics such as the future of education, preservation and promotion of the Sanskrit language and the integration of the Indian knowledge tradition with the modern education system,” he said, adding that the purpose of education is not only to acquire knowledge and skills, but also to inculcate in students morality, a sense of duty and robust cultural consciousness and commitment to human welfare.

Reviewing the conference preparations, Baba Ramdev stated that the success of such a massive event depends on meticulous planning, teamwork and dedication.
