More than 110 complaints related to land disputes, illegal encroachments, electricity bills and village issues were received during Samadhan Diwas in Dehradun on Monday. The additional district magistrate Smrita Parmar and joint magistrate Harshita Singh heard the complaints and directed officials to ensure their timely resolution.
Several citizens raised concerns over land disputes, illegal occupation of private and public properties and problems related to electricity services. Residents of Rampur Kalan complained about alleged illegal collection of money at the weekly market despite the expiry of its auction period. They demanded a fresh auction and a ban on collections until then. The block development officer of Sahaspur was directed to investigate the matter, officials said.
Another complainant, Madan Mohan Negi alleged that electricity units generated by his three kilowatt solar panel were not being properly adjusted in his electricity bill. He claimed that most of the 7,165 units supplied to the grid remained unadjusted.
Land related complaints were also raised by residents of Hopetown and Rampur Kalan over alleged illegal occupation and fraudulent land sales. The Vikasnagar SDM was directed to investigate complaints related to land records and encroachments.
Harak Bahadur sought an independent investigation into the suspicious death of his son Sandesh Thapa at PPCL in Maldevta on September 9. The circle officer, Raipur, was directed to conduct a fair investigation.
The ADM directed officials to examine every complaint properly and ensure that complainants receive actual relief instead of treating Samadhan Diwas as a formality.
