Covid-19 tally climbs to 56070 in U’khand

14 deaths, 429 fresh cases reported on Wednesday

The tally of the novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) patients in Uttarakhand mounted to 56070 on Wednesday with the state health department reporting 429 fresh cases of the disease. The department also reported the death of 14 patients of the disease on the day which increased the death toll to 796. The authorities discharged 827 patients of the disease from different hospitals of the state after their recovery from the disease. A total of 48798 patients have so far recovered from the disease in the state. The percentage recovery from the disease in the state is at 87.03 percent and out of the total samples tested 6.79 percent have tested positive for Covid-19. The doubling rate for the disease is 83.92 days.

Six patients of Covid-19 were reported dead at Himalayan hospital Dehradun on Wednesday. A similar number of deaths were also reported at Mahant Indiresh hospital Dehradun while two persons succumbed to the disease at Medicity hospital Rudrapur.

The authorities reported 157 fresh cases of Covod-19 in Dehradun while 55 patients were found in Haridwar, 42 in Nainital, 40 in Udham Singh Nagar, 24 in Rudraprayag, 22 each in Champawat and Pauri Garhwal, 17 in Almora, 14 in Uttarkashi, 12 each in Chamoli and Rudraprayag, nine in Bageshwar and three in Tehri on Wednesday.

 Out of the 827 patients discharged on Wednesday, 209 belonged to Udham Singh Nagar, 179 Haridwar and 156 from Dehradun.The state now has 6145 active patients of the disease. Dehradun district with 1829 active cases is at top of table while Haridwar with 966 active cases is on second spot. Nainital has 638, Pauri 428, Udham Singh Nagar 401, Tehri 389, Uttarkashi 377, Chamoli 277, Rudraprayag 202, Pithoragarh 200, Champawat 174, and Almora 144 active cases of the disease. With 120 active cases of Covid-19, Bageshwar is at the bottom of the table of active cases in Uttarakhand.
