Alleging that the officials of Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) are harassing the local shopkeepers under the guise of the High Court orders, the associations of local businessmen demonstrated against the authorities. On Tuesday morning around 11 PM, the members of Subhash Nagar Vyapar Mandal Samiti (SNVMS) and Doon Udyog Vyapar Mandal (DUVM) staged a demonstration against MDDA.
They alleged that the officials of MDDA have sealed various shops unnecessarily in the last few days which is severely affecting livelihood of the local shopkeepers. According to the representative of DUVM, Siddharth Aggrawal, the teams of MDDA are pasting the notices in the shops and then immediately sealing the shops in the name of High Court orders. It is harassment of poor shopkeepers and all the shopkeepers condemn this move of the authorities, stated Aggrawal. According to the members of the associations, these are the hard times for the local businessmen, especially when they cannot seek any help from the authorities but they will stand together against such actions.
