SRHU, VC Vijay Dhasmana walks ‘The Pioneer Talk’

The varsity to train and support 1000 youths on various aspects of home stay scheme; enters MoU with ‘Learnt-it’.

In an endeavour to develop skills of local youth, the Swami Rama Himalayan University (SRHU), Jollygrant has decided to provide training to 1000 youths on various aspects of home stay scheme. In the initial phase, 100 youth will be given free training.

For the purpose the university has entered a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Learn-it, an organization working in the field of self-employment. Under this, learn-it experts will train youth in SRHU. It is worth mentioning here that the Vice Chancellor (VC) of the university, Vijay Dhasmana had made an announcement for his intention for such an endeavour during his interaction with The Pioneer during the popular ‘Pioneer Talk’ programme recently.

Dhasmana said that the focus of SRHU is not just on giving book knowledge to the youth and distributing degrees to them. “Our aim is to prepare students in that direction by understanding social needs. Our focus is on introducing courses through which youth can become self-reliant rather than jobs and a source of inspiration for society. Uttarakhand has immense potential in the fields of agriculture, horticulture, floriculture, tourism and wellness. The youth of Uttarakhand can become self-reliant by working in the field of home stay. On a very large scale, SRHU is going to train the youth for home stay. Many youths from Uttarakhand have returned during the Covid period and they have experience of working in hotels. These youth will be selected and they will be linked with the home-stay business,’’ he said.

The SRHU plans to support these youths after the training so that they can become successful entrepreneurs. In the first batch, 100 youths will be given completely free vocational training. The duration of this training will be around 200 hours, which will be completed in different stages. Interested youth can contact on phone number + 91-7869568769 for more information.
