Cong rally anti-farmer, says BJP

Opposition to Gairsain development masterplan exposes Cong’s anti-development mindset

The Bharatiya Janata Party has stated that the tractor rally taken out by the Congress was anti-farmer. Further, the Congress terming the chief minister’s announcements for development of summer capital Gairsain as mere electoral announcements has exposed its anti-development mindset, alleged the BJP.

The BJP State vice president Devendra Bhasin stated that the tractor rally taken out by the Congress is a proof of the party’s anti-farmer mindset. The Congress doesn’t want the farmers freed from exploitation by middlemen because its own leaders work as middlemen unhesitant to exploit farmers. “This is the reason why the Congress isn’t liking the three farm laws enacted which would free farmers from the clutches of middlemen, enable the farmers to sell their produce anywhere they wish and at the rate they wish. The BJP is committed to doubling the income of farmers and these laws are a big step in that direction. However, the Congress is attempting to confuse the farmers. Neither are the Mandis being closed nor is the minimum support price being removed,” said Bhasin.

He further said that the Congress is opposed to development because its leaders criticised the Rs 25,000 crore announced by chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat for the planned development of Gairsain. It would have been better if the Congress had welcomed this announcement and talked of cooperating in this task, he added.
