GDMC hospital to start all OPDs from Dec 1
The hospital was converted as a dedicated Covid-19 hospital in the month of March.
After a long break, the general OPDs of all the departments of Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) would start functioning from December 1. Initially only 25 patients in OPD of every department would be examined and later this number would be increased after a review on December 15. It is worth mentioning here that the GDMC hospital was converted as a dedicated Covid-19 hospital in the month of March only. After which the hospital was catering only the Covid-19 patients.
The decision to open the OPDs of all the departments was taken in a meeting of all Head of Departments (HoD) in the hospital on Saturday. The meeting was chaired by the Principal of GDMC, Dr Ashutosh Sayana.
He said that the OPDs of cardiology, skin, cancer and paediatrics were started by the hospital on November 2 after the number of active cases of the Covid-19 became less and now all OPDs would start operating. He added that OPDs would open on all week days while the OPDs of cardiology would function on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Dr Sayana said that all precautions would be taken and Covid-19 regulations would be strictly adhered to. The patients would have to take online appointments for the OPD. The facilities of X ray, ECG and pathology would be made available in the OPD building itself. The OPD of gynaecology which earlier was being operated in the old building has been shifted to the new building. The meeting was attended by Medical Superintendent Dr K K Tamta, Dr Narayanjit Singh, Dr R S Bisht, Dr Chitra Joshi, Dr Abhay, Dr J S Rana, Dr Vijay Bhandari, Dr Sushil Ojha, Dr Anil Joshi, Dr Amar Upadhyaya and Mahendra Bhandari.
