MCD sanitises marketplaces with 4000 litres of disinfectant on Sunday

Putting 4000 litres of disinfectant to use, the Municipal Corporation of Dehradun (MCD) sanitised all the prominent public places in the city today as the day was also weekly closure of markets.
Informing about it, the Senior municipal health officer Dr R K Singh said that heavy vehicles like tractors were used by the corporation to sanitise the public places spread across 100 wards of the city that generally remains crowded on weekdays. He said that the MCD used about 4000 litres of water mixed sodium hypochlorite solution and since the crowd remains quite less in public places during weekly closure on Sunday, it makes the spraying of disinfectant easier for sanitation workers to sanitise the city, said Singh.
Though, Dehradun municipal corporation is one of the biggest corporation in the state and sanitization is certainly a gigantic task is a thickly populated city like Dehradun.
