DM bans Christmas and New Year celebration in public places

In the wake of Covid-19 pandemic, the Dehradun district administration banned all celebrations in public places this year on the occasion of Christmas day, New Year’s eve and the New Year.

As per the orders issued by district magistrate Ashish Kumar Srivastava on Tuesday, no public gatherings and events including in hotels, bar and restaurants among other places will be allowed on December 25, December 31 and January 1 to curb the covid contagion in the district. The DM has also instructed the officials to take strict actions against those violating the guidelines under the Epidemic Diseases act 1897 and the Disaster Management Act 2005.
