Covid-19 vaccine dry run in the state today
130 hospitals across all 13 districts of the state to participate in the programme
The dry run, a precursor of mass vaccination of Covid-19 would be undertaken in 130 hospitals across all 13 districts of the state on Friday. The state government has earmarked the places where the dry run of vaccine would be undertaken and beneficiaries identified. As per the provisions of the government of India, the beneficiaries of the vaccination would be put into observation for half an hour after administration of vaccine. This precaution is being taken to observe any adverse reaction. The mission director of National Health Mission (NHM) and state nodal officer, Sonika said that list of persons to be vaccinated in the dry run has been made and a message has been sent to their mobile phones. She said that adequate number of health workers would remain deployed to tackle any issue such as adverse reaction from vaccine. Sonika added that all Zone and Sector magistrates have been directed to take stock of the arrangements at the vaccination points. The director NHM, Dr Saroj Naithani informed that the state level observers have been appointed for monitoring of the dry run. She said that these observers would submit detailed reports on dry run to the state headquarter. The observers are, Dr Bharti Rana ( Pauri), Dr S K Gupta ( Tehri), Dr Manoj Baukhandi ( Haridwar), Dr K S Chauhan ( Chamoli), Dr S K Singh ( Rudraprayag), Dr Vikas ( Uttarkashi), Dr Shailja Bhatt ( Nainital and Udham Singh Nagar) and Dr Shikha Jangpangi ( Champawat).
The state level Covid-19 control room has been entrusted with the overall responsibility of successful conduction of the dry run.
