Covid-19 vaccination: 1961 health workers receive vaccine shots on Monday
A total of 68 vaccine sessions have so far been held in the state and vaccine shots have been given to 4237 beneficiaries
On the second day of the Covid-19 vaccination a total of 1961 beneficiaries were inoculated with the vaccine in Uttarakhand on Monday. A total of 34 vaccine sessions were held in the state on the day. The Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Covid-19 control room, Dr Abhishek Tripathi said that so far 68 vaccine sessions have been held in the state and vaccine shots have been given to 4237 beneficiaries. Second dose of the vaccine would be administered to these recipients on 28th day of the first dose. The health department has directed the Chief Medical Officers (CMO) to ensure that the second dose of vaccine is kept safe for the beneficiaries.
On Monday 260 and 235 beneficiaries were inoculated in Udham Singh Nagar and Haridwar respectively. Similarly 193 in Nainital, 160 in Pithoragarh, 148 in Bageshwar, 145 in Tehri, 142 in Dehradun, 113 in Rudraprayag, 98 in Pauri and 93 in Almora were vaccinated.
A total of 56 percent vaccination against the target was achieved in the state on Monday. On the first day of vaccination 78 percent target was achieved. In Dehradun only 142 beneficiaries were vaccinated against a target of 500. Here five vaccine sessions were organised which were highest in the state but the vaccination percent 28.4 percent. In comparison, a mountainous district like Pithoragarh showed way with 80 percent vaccination against the target.
