Proposals will be prepared and submitted to the State government on important aspects including reconstituting the organisational structure of the Uttarakhand Biodiversity Board and establishment of its office building. The Principal chief conservator of forests (head of forest force) and chairman of the biodiversity board, Rajiv Bhartari said this after he along with principal secretary, forests, Anand Bardhan and other senior officials visited the biodiversity board office here on Friday.
Bhartari informed that during the visit on Friday, the officials checked the progress of the people’s biodiversity register. Earlier, the chief secretary Om Prakash had also held a meeting regarding the biodiversity board on Thursday. It was also decided that proposals will be submitted to the state government regarding reconstituting the organisational structure of the board and facilitating its own office building. It was also decided that forest range officers are also empowered to take action if the Act is violated. However, due to lack of awareness on this, the department will conduct training workshops for the departmental personnel.
