CM launches Deendayal Upadhyay cooperative farmers’ welfare agriculture loan scheme
Interest free loan of upto Rs three lakh to be distributed to 25,000 beneficiaries
Chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat launched the Deendayal Upadhyay cooperative farmers’ welfare agriculture loan scheme under which farmers are being provided interest free loans of upto Rs three lakh each. In addition to the inauguration programme in Dehradun, similar programmes were held at five other locations and all the blocks of the state. The state government aims to distribute the loans to 25,000 beneficiaries in the state for agriculture and farming equipment, pisciculture, herb cultivation, poultry, beekeeping and other related activities. At the programme in Dehradun, the CM distributed cheques for Rs three lakh each to 11 beneficiaries. Prem Chand Sharma was recently received the Padma Shri for distinguished work in agriculture and horticulture was also felicitated on the occasion. Addressing the gathering on the occasion, the CM said that the state government is undertaking various efforts to improve the economic condition of farmers. Stating that the government is always eager to serve the interests of farmers, he said that the three farm laws introduced by the Central government will benefit the farmers considerably in the coming times. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has worked to execute recommendations of MS Swaminathan on the ground with various measures including MSP at one and a half times more than the production cost. He said that the Deendayal Upadhyay cooperative farmer welfare scheme had been launched in Roorkee and has been extended further due to the good results achieved.
Rawat said, “The condition of the market cannot improve till farmers and villagers acquire more income. In order to improve the economic condition of people in rural areas we are building growth centres based on different themes with 107 growth centres being approved so far. Today, the growth centres are proving effective in enhancing the livelihoods of the local residents. The growth centres will be extended to every Nyay Panchayat in the state,” he said.
Referring to other steps of the State government, he said that the Mukhyamantri Swarozgar Yojana had been launched to boost self employment. About 150 different works are included under this scheme under which 25 per cent subsidy is being provided. Rawat further said that record road construction had been done in Uttarakhand since 2017. The roads built in the state during the past three years and 10 months are approximately equal to the roads built in the initial 17 years after creation of Uttarakhand. He also said that the welfare schemes of the Central government are taking the nation forward on the path of progress.
Meanwhile, in the programmes organised in different parts of the State, Union Education minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’, Vidhan Sabha speaker Premchand Agrawal, cabinet ministers Satpal Maharaj, Madan Kaushik, Subodh Uniyal, Harak Singh Rawat, Yashpal Arya, Arvind Pandey, State minister Rekha Arya, leader of opposition Indira Hridayesh and local MLAs were among those present.
