Govt has no data of labourers of power projects: Cong
The Uttarakhand Congress has claimed that the state government and its Labour welfare board is not aware about the number of the labourers working in the different hydro power projects in the state.
Interacting with the media persons at Rajiv Bhawan here on Monday, the vice president of Uttarakhand Congress Surya Kant Dhasmana said that though Uttarakhand is referred to as ‘Power state’, the government here is in dark about the number of labourers deployed in different power projects.
He claimed that the estimation of loss of lives in the Rishiganga hydropower project and under construction power project at Dhauliganga River by NTPC is challenging because neither the state government nor the labour welfare board has any details of workers. He demanded that the government should ensure that it has data of all the workers working in all hydropower projects.
