DM directs authorities to take action against illegal mining
Dehradun District Magistrate Ashish Kumar Srivastava has directed sub-divisional magistrates (SDMs) to take strict action against illegal mining in their respective areas of the district.
In the meeting with the officials of various departments on Thursday, Dehradun district magistrate also instructed SDMs to settle the cases in their courts within the given time frame, especially those related to women’s kidnapping, dowry and other crimes related to women. He also directed SDMs and city magistrate to register cases only after thorough investigation. Moreover, Srivastava directed the police department to use jingles and audio messages to spread public awareness about road safety. According to him, police can also take help from district legal service authority (DLSA) to install hoardings in order to raise awareness in the district on traffic rules and road safety. Further, he also directed the revenue department to recover all the pending dues from the defaulters.
Additional district magistrate (ADM) Bir Singh Budiyal, city magistrate Kusum Chauhan besides SDMs and other officials from the police department attended the meeting.
