Uttarakhand was presented the 18th CSE SEG e-governance award 2020 at a function presided over by Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath in Lucknow on Friday. Uttarakhand received this award in the state category for the e-cabinet and Uttarakhand audit management initiatives. On behalf of Uttarakhand, the award was received by NIC SEO K Narayan and Gopan department joint secretary Omkar Singh.
It is pertinent to mention here that non profit society CSE presents awards under various categories for commendable performance in e-governance. Considering the e-cabinet initiative taken by the Uttarakhand government as a big step towards e-governance, the state was presented with the award of excellence. The organisation also shared this as a best practice with other states.
Congratulating the Gopan department and NIC for this award, chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat said that e-governance is very important in order to facilitate good governance. Congratulating the departmental officials, chief secretary Om Prakash recalled that Uttarakhand is the first state to take the e-cabinet initiative.
