People troubled by policies of BJP govt, says PCC chief

The Pradesh Congress Committee president Pritam Singh averred that the general public is troubled by the anti-people policies of the Bharatiya Janata Party government. He said this after several women including Panchayat representatives from the rural areas of Mussoorie Vidhan Sabha constituency joined the Congress party at a function organised at the Congress Bhawan here on Sunday. The women joined the party under the leadership of the party’s state general secretary Godavari Thapli.

Speaking on the occasion, the PCC president said that the people are stricken by the policies of the BJP government which have resulted in changes like the steep hike in the price of petrol, diesel and cooking gas among others. Singh said, “The price of food items is rising consistently. On the other hand, the state government has achieved the first position in the nation when it comes to unemployment. The BJP government wants to dupe the public with false promises but the people have understood this game and will not fall for lies. The conditions in the state are worsening alarmingly which is why people are now looking at the Congress with hope,” claimed the PCC president.

Speaking on the occasion, Thapli opined that there is a rising sentiment in favour of the Congress party with the faith of the people in the party witnessing a rise. The Congress state vice president Suryakant Dhasmana, Mahanagar head Lal Chand Sharma, Mahesh Joshi and other office bearers of the party were also present on the occasion.
