Students who had undergone training under the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana- National Urban Livelihood Mission were presented certificates at a function held in the municipal corporation of Roorkee on Saturday. The Roorkee mayor Gaurav Goel, municipal commissioner Nupur Verma, councillors and other officials were present on the occasion.
Goel said that the aim of the training was to connect the youths with self employment and make them self reliant to achieve the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat. The municipal commissioner said that the students had been provided free training under the scheme. Those who had passed the exam after training were presented certificates. It is now upto the trained youths if they opt for employment or self employment.
