U’khand Cong gears up for Srinagar rally

Undeterred by the decision of BJP to change chief minister, the Uttarakhand Congress party is gearing itself to make the Jan Akrosh rallies in the state a success. The first in series of these rallies would be organised in Srinagar on March 14.

The senior Congress leader Mahesh Joshi told The Pioneer that the convener of the rally and vice president of Uttarakhand Congress Surya Kant Dhasmana would leave for Srinagar on March 12 while the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) President Pritam Singh would hold a meeting with the party workers at Devprayag on March 13 for the rally. Joshi said that all the senior leaders of the party would attend the rally. He said that the BJP government has failed miserably on all fronts in the last four years and the basic idea behind the creation of a separate state is being ignored by the state government.

Joshi alleged that Trivendra Singh Rawat had to leave the chair of Chief Minister due to the failure of his government. He however added that development cannot be done by changing the face of CM.
