Khanduri expresses confidence in Rawat’s leadership
A day after assuming charge as the chief minister, Tirath Singh Rawat visited his political guru and former chief minister major general (retd) Bhuwan Chandra Khanduri at his residence here on Thursday. Khanduri expressed confidence in Rawat’s leadership, stating that the BJP will achieve good results in the 2022 Assembly elections.
Talking to the media persons after meeting the former CM, Rawat said, “He is like a father figure to me. Whatever I have learnt because of which I have reached this position today is because of him. He is my ideal.”
Sharing his views with the media, Khanduri expressed confidence in Rawat’s leadership. He said, “Consider his background and work- he has been active in the organisation since his younger days and is a very sincere worker. In his public life so far, there has been no taint or allegation leveled at him. I have faith in his leadership.”
On being asked about how the party will fare in the coming Assembly elections under Rawat’s leadership, Khanduri said that the BJP has its own character. “The leadership makes a difference. I am sure that the party will achieve good results in the assembly elections.”
