The labour minister Harak Singh Rawat has directed reinstatement of 38 employees removed from the Uttarakhand building and other construction workers welfare board. The minister has directed the secretary of the department to reinstate the workers from the date they were removed.
It is pertinent to mention here that the former chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat had removed Harak Singh Rawat from the position of the cash rich board last year and appointed Shamsher Singh Satyal on the post. The government had also removed the then secretary of the board Damyanti Rawat who is considered as a protégé of Harak Singh Rawat and appointed labour commissioner Deepti Singh as secretary. The new board headed by Satyal had reversed many decisions taken by the earlier board which included removal of the employees. On Thursday the state government removed Deepti Singh and handed over the responsibility to deputy labour commissioner Madhu Negi Chauhan.
