149 new cases, five deaths reported on Wednesday

Record number (1,24,031) of people given vaccine shots on the day
The state health department reported only 149 new cases of Covid 19 in Uttarakhand on Wednesday. The cumulative count of patients in the state has now increased to 3,39,127. The department also reported deaths of five patients from the disease on the day after which the Covid death toll climbed to 7068. With the recovery of 152 patients on Wednesday the total number of recovered patients in the state has increased to 3,23,377. The recovery percentage from the disease is now at 95.36 and the sample positivity rate is at 6.32 percent in the state.
Out of the five deaths from the disease reported on Wednesday, two each occurred at HNB base hospital Srinagar and Base hospital Kotdwar. The department also reported 11 such deaths on the day which had occurred in the past were not reported earlier.
Dehradun district reported 43, Almora 21, Nainital 14, Champawat 13, Haridwar and Pithoragarh 12 each, Udham Singh Nagar 10, Uttarkashi eight, Chamoli six, Bageshwar five, Pauri and Rudraprayag two each and Tehri one case on the day.
The state now has 2,877 active patients of the disease. Dehradun district is at top of the table in the list of active cases with 606 cases while Haridwar is in second position with 374 active cases. Pithoragarh has 331, Nainital 235, Bageshwar 202, Almora 200, Pauri 182, Champawat 141, Tehri 133, , Rudraprayag 122, Uttarkashi 121, Chamoli 116 and Udham Singh Nagar 114 active cases of the disease.
The state reported seven new cases of Mucormycosis (Black fungus) on Wednesday after which it now has 472 patients of the disease. Death of one patient from Black Fungus was reported on the day. A total of 83 patients have so far died from this disease while 68 have recovered.
In the vaccination drive a record 1,24,031 people were vaccinated in 871 sessions held on the day. A total of 7,45,468 people have been fully vaccinated while 31,67,934 people have been partially vaccinated in the state.
