Rape case lodged against MLA, Rathore claims innocence

The police have booked a rape case against the Jwalapur MLA from BJP, Suresh Rathore on orders of the court. He has been accused by a local leader of the party and the police lodged the case against him on directions of the Haridwar court I judge Manju Devi.
The woman has alleged in her complaint that the MLA had raped her some months ago and had allegedly threatened her at that time which is why she hadn’t lodged a complaint at that time. Sub inspector Mahendra Pundir of Bahadrabad police station said that the MLA had been booked under IPC section 376. The police have started an investigation in the case.
Meanwhile, the MLA has said that some people had presented false evidence based on which the case was lodged. He further claimed that the people who had been sent to jail based on his complaint about a month ago had now conspired against him after coming out of jail. Citing a threat to his life, the MLA has also sought security.
According to sources, the MLA had lodged a case against people including the woman who has accused him of rape during May. On May 26, Rathore had lodge a complaint against five people including the woman and her husband accusing them of attempting to blackmail him. He had alleged that the people had sought Rs 30 lakh from him and threatened to spread an objectionable video of his if he didn’t pay.
