Focus on schemes promoting self employment- CM Dhami
Asks officers to concentrate on better financial management, increase sources of revenue and prevent revenue loss to achieve the budget targets.

The chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that the pandemic of Covid-19 has affected the financial condition of the state but efforts should be made to improve the economy by adhering to better financial management. He said that emphasis should be on increasing the sources of income and investment in the state. The CM held a marathon meeting with the officials of senior officials of the state on late Monday night in which he reviewed the financial status of the state. He said that apart from focussing on better financial management, increasing sources of revenue and preventing revenue loss efforts should be made to achieve the budget targets. He directed the officials to focus on balanced and inclusive development for tackling poverty, unemployment and migration. The CM also said that efforts should be made to increase annual growth rate, industrial growth rate and agricultural and associated sector growth rates.
The secretary, finance, Amit Singh Negi gave a detailed presentation about the financial health of the state and gave an account of income and expenditure statement of the state. He said that the state’s budget this year is Rs 58000 crore. Dhami said that the plan should be made to link the forest produce with income, making a practical mining policy and increasing the tax collections. He said that the proposals on the centrally funded schemes should be prepared. Dhami also directed fast disposal of cases related to transport, power and other departments of Uttar Pradesh.
The chief secretary Sukhbir Singh Sandhu, additional chief secretary Manisha Panwar, Anand Bardhan, additional principal secretary Abhinav Kumar, special secretary Parag Madhukar Dhakate and others were present on the occasion.
