The Uttarakhand transport department will start registration of public transport operators, conductors and cleaners from today to provide the financial support of Rs 2,000 to each eligible beneficiary whose livelihood was affected due to Covid-19 curfew. According to the regional transport officer (enforcement) Sandeep Saini, the eligible public transport operators, conductors and cleaners can register themselves at http://uk.gov.in. He said, the applicants will have to mention the driving licence number of the vehicle they work on besides bank account details. After providing all the necessary information, the applicant will receive a message on the registered mobile number about the approval or rejection of the application, stated Saini. The reason for rejecting the application will be mentioned in the message and the applicants can apply again with the correct information. However, the applicants must remember that name mentioned in their bank accounts and in the application must be the same for the easy transfer of funds to the beneficiaries for the next six months by the department, asserted the RTO.
