Renovation of FRI building begins

Renovation work is being started in the historic building of the Forest Research Institute (FRI) here. The main building of FRI was constructed during the year 1929 in Dehradun.
Its construction was started in the year 1923 by the Central Public Works Department. According to officials, after the earthquake in Chamoli, Uttarakhand during the year 1999, some parts of this historic building had developed cracks.
Apart from this, with the passage of time, problems of leakage, seepage and other issues were also being experienced in it. To deal with these problems the Central Public Works Department with the help of CBRI, Roorkee is initiating renovation work.
