GDMC organises free camp for eye patients

The Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) hospital organised a free screening camp for eye patients on the occasion of World Sight Day on Thursday. The free camp was organised in Eye OPD of the hospital for eye patients aged over 70 years and those suffering from cataracts, glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy. The dean of GDMC, Dr Asutosh Sayana said that such awareness campaigns can prevent blindness in various eye patients suffering from distinct eye diseases. The unit head of the ophthalmology department and the associate professor of GDMC Dr Sushil Ojha said that the right and timely treatment of glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy can work wonders for patients. The dean also stated that such more camps will raise awareness in the state and will reduce blindness among eye patients.
