Says BJP has fulfilled 85 % of the promises made in its election manifesto

Cautioning against voting Congress to power the Union Home Minister Amit Shah has sought five more years from the people of Uttarakhand for Bharatiya Janata Party. He said that the BJP government has taken the state on the path of development but since the depression left by the Congress is large the people of Uttarakhand should give another term to BJP. Shah was addressing a rally at Bannu School ground here on Saturday after inaugurating the Mukhyamantri Ghasyari Kalyan Yojana (MGKY) and computerisation of cooperative committees. Coming down heavily on the Congress party, Shah said that the Congress leaders were not visible during the last five years and during the pandemic of Covid-19. He said that the Congress only believes in coming to power by any means and the party is not capable of providing good governance. Reminding the people that Uttarakhand was created by former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the Union home minister said that PM Modi is committed to the development of the state. Reading out the list of development projects undertaken by the BJP government and the money spent on them Shah said that work on projects worth Rs 85,000 crore are either complete or are in various stages of completion in Uttarakhand in the last five years. He challenged the Congress which ruled the country for ten years prior to the NDA government to come out with its report card on development. Shah said that the Congress party is corrupt and promotes politics of appeasement.

Lauding the MGKY, the Union Home minister said that the Union government also wants to start such a scheme with the help of agencies like NABARD and he has directed his officers to visit Uttarakhand to study the scheme. He said that the packed nutritious fodder would not only increase the yield of milk but would also save time spent on collecting fodder from forests for the women which they would now spend on other productive works. Shah thanked PM Modi for understanding the potential of the cooperative movement and creating a separate ministry of cooperatives.

In his address CM Dhami said the state has achieved the target of cent percent vaccination of first dose in the eligible population in the month of October. He said that his government has started a recruitment process to fill 24,000 vacant posts in different departments and is creating self employment opportunities for the youth. Appreciating the MGKY, the CM said that packed fodder at the rate of Rs two per kg would be provided to the cattle rearers and it would remove the load of fodder from the heads of the women folks of the state.

The cooperatives minister Dhan Singh Rawat said that Uttarakhand has become the first state in the country to bring all its 670 cooperative societies online.

The union minister of state for defence Ajay Bhatt, the in charge of Uttarakhand BJP Dushyamt Gautam, former chief ministers Trivendra Singh Rawat, Tirath Singh Rawat, Vijay Bahuguna, Rajya Sabha MP Anil Baluni, all cabinet ministers, MLAs and party workers were present on the occasion.
