Valley of Flowers closed to public

The world famous Valley of Flowers in Chamoli district was closed to the public on Sunday. A total of 9,404 tourists visited this valley this year. Despite Covid-19 a considerable number of visitors reached the valley. Due to the pandemic, the valley was opened to tourists in July this year whereas it is opened in June for visitors every year.
The Valley of Flowers is now expected to be reopened for visitors in June next year. Forest range officer Brijmohan Bharti said that of the 9,404 people who visited the valley this year, 15 were foreigners. Revenue of about Rs 13.93 lakh was earned in the valley this year.
