Kothiyal slams Congress & BJP for taking credit for Kedarnath redevelopment

Kedarnath was redeveloped by teams of youths, women and ex-army personnel after the 2013 disaster under extreme circumstances and not by Congress and BJP as is being claimed by them in view of the 2022 assembly elections.
The chief ministerial candidate of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) colonel (retd) Ajay Kothiyal stated this on Tuesday. He said that both the parties are eager to take the credit for the redevelopment of Kedarnath only because of the elections next year but they had no key role in the redevelopment works. Kothiyal, who is known for his role in the reconstruction of Kedarnath, said that he and his teams consistently worked at the altitude of 11,000 feet even in minus 35-degree Celsius temperature for three years to redevelop Kedarnath.
Despite this, he said, the parties are questioning his contribution to the redevelopment of the place in order to take credit for the work which was carried out together by strong teams of women, youth and ex-army personnel. He stated that his teams finished the redevelopment work under severe conditions when the government agencies failed to do so. He said, “We will similarly redevelop our whole state like Kedarnath together with the public after winning the assembly elections.”
Kothiyal also visited the memorial of martyrs in Mussoorie on the occasion of the state foundation day. He said that BJP and Congress have failed on every front to develop the state as dreamed by the martyrs. He said that the state might need to commence another movement considering the miserable condition of Uttarakhand. He said that he has made five resolutions on the occasion that mainly include making Gairsain a permanent capital of Uttarakhand, providing reservation to statehood activists and introducing stringent land laws which will be completed when the party comes to power.
