Amrit Sewa Samiti pays homage to Nehru

The members of Amrit Sewa Samiti of Uttarakhand paid homage to the first Prime Minister of India, Jawaharlal Nehru on his 132nd birth anniversary on Sunday at the guest house of the Public Works Department (PWD) in Sahastradhara.
The vice president of the committee, Shivani Thapliyal said that Nehru had visited Sahastradhara just a day before his death on May 26, 1964. She said that he had a deep connection with the place and wanted to develop it. She said that the government must make a memorial of Nehru in PWD and she will give a memorandum for the same to the state government.
The members BL Kathuliyal and Harjeet Singh said that these facts must also be included in the study material of children. They said that they will also start a campaign soon to make Sahastradhara the cleanest place in the city.
